12" Gauge Cast Iron Straight Track
Purchase lengths of 4'- 0". If small sections are necessary, use a minimum length of 18", filler pieces should be used as dictated by field conditions.
All track must be designed as a unitized product. The angle of track riding surface, the radius of the curve drop into the flange guiding trench and the angle of the side wall of the flange guide wall must mirror the wheel flange angle, radius, and riding surface angle of the wheels.
Precision patterns, pattern makers and a substantial pattern inventory is required for any manufacturing firm to produce a consistent, quality product.
G) Splice plates should be pre-installed and hardware included to reduce field labor (field welding and grinding; is an antiquated, labor intensive, track connecting method).
H) Casting ends should be machined for a precise flush joint.
I) Pre-drilled and countersunk bolt holes are necessary to reduce installation time.
None required. If wheels are replaced when worn, the track shouldn't wear. However, old worn wheels or wheels of a different non-unitized design will damage the track.
Note: Each track splice equates to installation labor and potential joint problems. Obtain the largest castings with the fewest splices to expedite installation and limit future headaches.
